Mavrud is a grape from the Bulgarian region of Thrace. It is among the oldest and most superior red wine grapes of Bulgaria and is the one of the highest significance when it comes to the winemaking culture of the country.
The Assenovgrad Mavrud wine is an exceptional wine with a characteristic ruby red color, a pleasant fruity aroma, and a soft harmonious taste. The floral bouquet from the nose persists on the palate, giving this wine an impressive well-rounded taste.
Pair it with red meat dishes, rosemary potatoes, and desserts such as mousse, apple pie, mascarpone pie and tiramisu, bread pudding, cheesecake, lemon cake, etc.
